Role Profile

The R&D Facility Manager will be part of a dynamic research team focused on designing, delivering, and controlling core processes and equipment throughout the development and industrialization of current and future battery materials.

Under the guidance of the Global Head of R&D, they will ensure equipment, services, and utilities availability to enable ongoing scientific research projects in the Agratas laboratories in Bangalore.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities Commissioning
  • Coordination of commissioning plans preparation
Layout & Design Concepts
  • Steering layouts and concept designs for buildings team approval
Vendor Suitability
  • Identifying vendor suitability through detailed NDA/RFQ structure (in conjunction with Procurement Team)
Team Management
  • Overall responsibility for Commissioning team and overseeing recruitment, mobilization, training, and supervision of personnel
  • Safe and timely execution of all Commissioning activities and integration with Project and Operations, including equipment availability (PM's/TPM), spares, and maintenance strategies
Interface Management
  • Managing interfaces with Construction and Commissioning Managers and their respective teams
Engineering Coordination
  • Coordination with Engineering to ensure Commissioning deliverables are met
Documentation Management
  • Ensuring all documentation relevant to Commissioning phase is received by Project, including O&M manuals, Training materials, Engineering databases for O&M systems upload, spares lists, and spares
Vendor Coordination
  • Coordinating vendor representatives required during Commissioning
Materials & Resource Management
  • Developing and communicating requirements and timing for materials, resources, and external services for Commissioning
Laboratory Cleaning Plan
  • Developing and executing laboratory cleaning plan process controls
Progress Updates
  • Leading daily and weekly progress review meetings
Liaison with Statutory Authorities
  • Liaising with Statutory Authorities on matters associated with plant start-up
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Dry Rooms & Clean Laboratory Environments
  • Experience in delivering dry rooms and clean laboratory environments and associated fit-outs
Compliance and Regulations
  • Compliance and regulations knowledge and experience with COSHH/DSEAR/ATEX installations and associated HS&E procedures
Project Management
  • Strong track record of completion and success in delivery of commissioning and projects
ISO & UKAS Standards
  • Understanding of ISO, UKAS, audit procedures, and methods
Leadership & Communication
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
Analytical Thinking
  • Clear thinker, able to divide job into small logical steps
Procedures & Workflows
  • Extensive experience in use of procedures and workflows in project execution
Completions Management Systems
  • Experience in use of Completions Management Systems (databases)
Project Discipline Systems
  • Functional knowledge of project discipline systems, design, and reporting processes
Role Specific Qualifications/Certifications

This role is ideal for an experienced facility manager with a strong background in laboratory operations, proven leadership skills, and a deep understanding of compliance and safety regulations.

Candidate should have a degree in Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
