We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer with deep expertise in AWS Cloud Development. This role is critical to both the development of new data products and the modernization of existing platforms.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned data engineer with hands-on experience designing, building, and optimizing large-scale data pipelines and architectures in both on-premises (e.g., Oracle) and cloud environments (especially AWS). This individual will also serve as a Cloud Development expert, mentoring and guiding other data engineers as they enhance their cloud skillsets.

Responsibilities

Data Engineering & Architecture

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and data products.
  • Develop and optimize ELT/ETL processes using a variety of tools and technologies.
  • Support and evolve data models that drive operational and analytical workloads.
  • Modernize legacy Oracle-based systems and migrate workloads to cloud-native platforms.

Cloud Development & DevOps (AWS-Focused)

  • Build, deploy, and manage cloud-native data solutions using AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, EMR, Redshift, Athena, Step Functions).
  • Implement CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security.
  • Ensure scalability, resilience, and compliance of AWS-based data platforms.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product managers, analysts, and engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Contribute to the data platform modernization roadmap and support new product delivery.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or equivalent technical role.
  • 5+ years of hands-on AWS Cloud Development & DevOps experience.
  • Strong expertise in SQL, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Deep experience with Oracle (PL/SQL, performance tuning, data extraction).
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing tasks.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud infrastructure (networking, security, cost optimization).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tooling (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions).

Preferred (Nice to Have)

  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Experience with modern orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow, dbt).
  • Exposure to data cataloging, governance, and quality tools.
