The QA Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the quality and usability of our web-based, data-driven engineering application. The successful candidate will be working closely with developers, designers, and other QA team members to estimate efforts, identify testcases and resolve issues, ensuring that our products deliver an exceptional user experience across all devices and platforms.Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute manual and automated tests on user interfaces to ensure they meet design specifications, functional requirements, and usability standards
  • Should be able to perform and develop test suites for simulation engine testing, REST API testing, browser-based user interface testing, performance and load testing
  • Conduct cross-browser and cross-device testing (e.g., BrowserStack, Sauce Labs) to ensure consistent performance and appearance across different environments
  • Perform regression testing on UI components after changes or updates to the software.
  • Develop, document, and maintain comprehensive test cases based on UI design specifications and requirements
  • Identify, document, and track software defects using issue tracking tools (e.g., Trello, Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, UX/UI designers to understand product requirements and provide timely feedback
  • Apply various testing types and methodologies effectively during SDLC
  • Take ownership of small tasks and deliver without supervision while using their discretion to seek help when necessary
  • Write effective tests according to best practices so that crucial functional requirements are verified, and tests remain valid when code is refactored
  • Should be able to derive and conduct system-level integration testing
  • Has the ability to break down problems and estimate time for development tasks
  • Good understanding of front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
  • Good understanding of cloud technologies like Docker, Jenkins to execute Automations

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in software quality assurance working with a web-based application
  • Good experience is writing testcases and execution using QA Management tool [Trello, Azure DevOps, Jira]
  • Good Programming experience in JavaScript/Java
  • Good Experience in UI Test Automation using Selenium, Cypress/ WebdriverIO Automation and specifically writing code in JavaScript and Java
  • Experience in testing web services (REST API’s)
  • Experience in writing, executing, and monitoring automated test suites using a variety of technologies including, but not limited to, Cypress/ WebdriverIO and Selenium with Cucumber
