Project Overview:

Bechtel is seeking to work with a major Indian corporation to provide Project Management Consultant (PMC) Services for a Power transmission project in the state of Gujarat, India. The PMC Services will be led out of India with personnel deployed in Mumbai region and the project sites in India, as well as few key contractor locations across India.

 

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting implementation of project specific cost control and reporting procedures, estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements. You will prepare cost studies, cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges. 

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Implements project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
  • Identifies and prepares cost trends for management attention.
  • Develops and maintain Project Cash flows.
  • Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities, as directed.
  • Provides direction to project team according to established policies and management guidance.
  • Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
  • Assists with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines.
  • Prepares cost data for proposals or contracts.
  • Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports.
  • Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
  • Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
  • Collects and classifies cost data.
  • Performs budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction discipline or group of disciplines.
  • Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Fundamentals of cost engineering and cost control for large scale infrastructure projects.
  • Skilled in oral and written communication.
  • Experience of working as PMC or consultant on EPC projects of similar nature OR working with PMC in the role of EPC contractor in large EPC projects is preferred.
  • Proficiency with PC operating systems, with proficiency in several software applications. Proficiency with multiple discipline-specific software applications (Microsoft Office Applications, Ecosys for example).
