Sr. Advisor II, NOC Support

Job Description

Role and Key Responsibilities:

 

â Escalation point for Tier 1 Engineers

âProvide advanced level network/service support

â Provide network continuity supporting relevant technologies in the business.

â Ensure issue resolution by taking ownership of  all critical network issues

â Manage Shift Performance

â Develop or contribute to the postmortem data collection efforts and documentation of the history

of the event.

â Act as the point of contact (POC) for all network/system maintenance. As such, will be

responsible to ensure there is appropriate support available to complete the scheduled

maintenance during the nightly window.

â Report operational state of the network on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

â Provide feedback to the NOC Supervisor and NOC Manager on all the pain-points, gaps and

challenges during the shift.

â Escalate to appropriate Operations teams for high-level issues or catastrophic

events (e.g. whole network element goes down, system-wide incidents/outages).

â Review of NOC Tier 1âs recommendations in preventing recurrence of network issues

â Continuously seek for process improvements

â Represent Tier 1 in meetings with external groups

â Conduct tech talks /knowledge sharing on new network design/technologies deployed on the

network

â Independently creates projects that are beneficial for the stability and availability of the corporate network

â Deep understanding of the network design and ability to troubleshoot 95% of the issues

Key Skills and knowledge:

 

â +5 years and above experience in troubleshooting and working in a network/service provider

â Industry standard certifications preferred (CCNP, JNCIP, JNCIS, ACMP).

â Consultant/ Senior Network Engineer

â Knowledge of TCP/IP fundamentals and commonly used network protocols (MPLS, IPv6, OSPF, BGP).

â Knowledge of network standards and practices.

â Experience in dealing with users.

â Strong and advance knowledge of network troubleshooting tools, and monitoring platforms.

â Maintain a high sense of urgency while staying cool under pressure.

â Team-oriented, quick learner and adapt to changes.

Educational qualification: Graduate
