Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) team compiles and analyzes an organization's long-term financial strategy. In addition to creating financial plan and forecasts, FP&A team also generates reports, analyzes financial trends, calculate the effects of business decisions and advise company leaders.

Target India FP&A team supports Target’s operational areas which includes Merchandising Finance, Supply Chain Finance, Digital Finance and Target India Finance teams. This position requires strong analytical, communication, management and strategic thinking skills and ability to partner with senior stakeholders in multiple functions to develop business insights and analytics.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Key responsibility will be to work with different teams within FP&A / Finance to draw out key insights / drive new analytics around different areas of the business.Analyze business performance and support decision making by providing stakeholders with meaningful insights and visibility on business performance on a regular basis;Generate insights into business performance to help drive improve financial results and facilitate data-based decision makingUse data extraction tools to extract and manipulate large amounts of dataBuild scenarios, plug and play models, what if analysis to simulate the financial impacts of various operational decisionsDevelop, model and apply analytical best practicesusing new and emerging technologies to raise the bar for performance in analysis by sharing with others well documented analytical solutions.Drive acontinuous improvement mindset by seeking out efficient ways to solve problems and to continually improve technically, implement best practises and analytical acumenBe expert in specific business domain, self-directed and drive execution towards outcomes, understand business inter-dependencies, conduct detailed problem solving, remediate obstacles, use independent judgement and decision making to deliver as per product scope, provide inputs to establish product/ project timelinesDevelop and analyse data reports/Dashboards/pipelines, do RCA and troubleshooting of issues that arise using exploratory and systemic techniques

REPORTING/WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to Senior Manager, FP&A (Target India)Partner with Finance teams in IndiaPartner with Global FP&A teams based out of Minneapolis

JOB REQUIREMENTS

B.E/B.Tech (2-3 years of relevant exp), M.Tech, M.Sc. , MCA (+2 years of relevant exp)Candidates with strong domain knowledgeStrong data understanding inference of patterns, root cause, statistical analysis, understanding forecasting/predictive modelling, etc.Advanced SQL experience writing complex queriesHands on experience with analytics tools: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Python, R, Domo and/or equivalent technologiesAble to support conclusions with analytical evidence using descriptive stats, inferential stats and data visualization.Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills.Demonstrated ability to work with ambiguous problem definitions, recognize dependencies and deliver impact solutions through logical problem solving and technical ideationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to speak to both business and technical teams, and translate ideas between themIntellectually curious, high energy and a strong work ethicComfort with ambiguity and open-ended problems in support of Finance
