- Prepare and/or participate in Die build planning and scheduling to adhere overall program milestones.
- Evaluation of die cost or any other cost quoted by supplier during Die build.
- Prepare/Amend purchase orders for new tools, engineering changes and coordinate the process with purchasing.
- Understands Autokiniton Die standards plus requirements/practices and OEM Die design standards.
- Review process/method plans as per part quality/GD&T requirements, press and customer standards.
- Review of formability simulations.
- Review of flow chart for transfer, tandem processes, and transfer simulations.
- Review of Die designs and participate in Die design reviews with suppliers.
- Provides approval and/or coordinate approval process of Process, Simulation and Die designs to tool shops for build.
- Monitor & review of die build progress/milestones using Lantern workflow and impart timely updates to project team.
- Review of CMM/Quality reports and determine/verify corrective actions for part quality improvement.
- Maintain the blank/coil material/size data up to date and coordinate with purchasing plus logistic team to deliver the material/blanks to Die supplier.
- Execute/coordinate engineering change management workflow effectively in association with Program manager, costing, purchasing and die supplier.
- follow up up Tool buy off process at supplier location and provide necessary support to press shops during Homeline buy offs from India .
- Participate in project related reviews with Customer, project team and supplier.
- Recommend incorporation of new technology wherever feasible and practical. Ensure that all products quoted and/or released to the plant are feasible and that the quoted rate is achievable.
- Accountable for on-time delivery of assigned work.
