About the role:

Transition Managers are Technical Project Managers who act as a single point of contact and accountability during an implementation project. They support clients and internal partners with technology-related planning and challenges. Their responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating the technical activities required for new, upgraded, or enhanced client platforms from contract signature to technical go-live or decommission.

  • Collaborating with clients and internal partners to ensure timely and quality platform delivery.

  • Ensuring that what is contracted is what is delivered to meet client expectations.

  • Enabling operational readiness by coordinating activities such as pre-live disaster recovery tests, backups, and monitoring.

  • Working with CIO on hardware-related requests such as storage capacity and CPU increases.

About the team: 

The Transition Management team at FIS delivers cloud hosting solutions to the clients for FIS suite of Capital Market products. The Transition Management team within FIS Capital Markets â Transformation and Acceleration, provides technical project management for new, upgrading & migrating clients with a mix of public and private cloud engagements.

We take the client through their implementation journey from the point they sign a contract until they go live. Further to this we also plan the decommission of their legacy environment in the case of upgrades.

What you will be doing:

  • As a Transition Manager, you would be working as part of the Cloud Transition Management team. You will manage projects that involve E2E Cloud Infrastructure and Network delivery for newly on-boarded clients, upgrades, and migrations.

  • You will assemble an internal project team of technical resources & plan system delivery of hosted environments.

  • You are client facing, both internal & external, with no travel required. Extensive communication with our customers, professional services & technical teams is a daily requirement.

  • You communicate timelines, set expectations, and ensure milestones are completed as scheduled.

  • You proactively identify and flag risks and manage the risk to avoid impact to planned work.

  • You will be capable of handling multiple projects in parallel, at various project stages.

  • You will enforce Transition Management process and standards across all project engagements.

What you will need:

  • Overall 10 to 15 yearsâ experience with at least 3-4 yearsâ experience in Technical project management focusing on Infrastructure delivery on Private and Public Cloud hosting platforms

  • PMP Certification or Prince 2 certification 

  • Experience in managing Cloud Hosting (Server commission, decommission, migration, consolidation, network, application integration, DR recovery and planning and deployment) projects. 

  • Mix of experience of both private and public cloud (AWS/Azure)

  • Experience working with project management methodology (PMI aligned framework) including project planning, control and assurance methodologies, project management software and practices. 

  • Experience working with client requirements, business objectives, and critical success factors. 

  • Skilled in estimating and common project management tools 

  • Good communication skills 

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving skills 

  • Ability to multitask and manage a mix of small, medium, and large projects. 

  • Ability to work in a team environment. 

Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience working with delivery assurance principles and appropriate relevant procedures.

  • Experience working with techniques and approaches related to the architecture, development, integration, and deployment of project phases.

  • Good leadership skills to train, guide, and mentor the work of less experienced personnel

  • ITIL V3/V4 training or certification
