The Senior Specialist, Cloud Network Engineer is accountable for the development and support of internal cloud networks, connectivity to and between cloud networks.

Responsibilities include:

  • Development & delivery of cloud hosted networking infrastructure environment
  • Provide metrics reporting, build documentations and standards.
  • Assists with complex infrastructure incident resolution.
  • Effectively partners with other groups at Hollister to maintain efficient an efficient and connected cloud environment(s)


In this role, the Senior Specialist, Cloud Network Engineer, is accountable for collaborating and communicating constructively and effectively with Architecture, Cyber Security and IT Operations teams. This role requires the individual to display accountability and due diligence during implementation, testing and delivery of solutions based on standardized solutions and methodology. Individual must display ability to be agile and flexible with multiple tasks in parallel. Individual must display ability to independently prioritize tasks based on team strategy.

Accountable for development & delivery of on-premises & cloud hosted infrastructure environment(s):
  • Responsible for development of networking infrastructure in cloud hosted environment
  • Creates detailed implementation plans and configuration with Global IT teams and business users.
  • Ensures that new implementations and existing infrastructure maximize availability and ensure service interruptions are minimal, managed, and controlled.
  • Accountable that all systems are fully tested and documented before handover.
  • Leads troubleshooting of complex connectivity problems.
  • Ensures that all system implementations are carried out in full accordance with the approved control procedures and standards.
  • Ensures that all systems selected or developed comply with Hollister Cyber Security policies and industry best practices.


Assists with identifying, isolating and resolving complex system problems to avoid minimal impact to the business, working with Global Operations associates.
  • Provides technical support during and after implementations, including the resolution of all problems associated with the planned deployment.
  • Provides Level 3 support of cloud network, and corresponding technologies.
  • Identifies and fixes system security vulnerabilities.


Effectively partners with other groups at Hollister to maintain optimal cloud environment(s) leading to a successful business.
  • Works closely with architecture, Cyber Security and IT Operations teams to ensure implementation of collaborative vision of infrastructure environment.
  • Effectively communications with IT Project Management Office and business to ensure efficient delivery of infrastructure.
  • Works with international business teams and participates in project meetings with international colleagues. Flexible work hours to meet international timelines.
  • Collaborates with team members on various technology initiatives.
  • Remains current with emerging industry standards, including obtaining and/or maintaining required certifications.
  • Maintains working knowledge of business.
  • Maintains working knowledge of large array of complex technologies in and outside of the current Hollister environment.

Essential Functions of the Role**:

Work Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years implementing and supporting complex networking infrastructure
  • Minimum 4 years implementing and supporting networking in Microsoft Azure environment.


Education Requirements
  • Minimum technical college diploma with relevant work experience (see above)
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator certification required.


Specialized Skills/Technical Knowledge:

Required:

  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals. Including routing, switching, firewalls, proxies, routing protocols (BGP), and SDWAN.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking components. Including virtual networks, peering, virtual network gateways, application gateways, VWAN, private endpoints, and load balancers.
  • Strong understanding and experience with interconnecting cloud and on-premises networks using VPN tunnels and Express Routes.
  • Understanding and experience with deploying infrastructure through code using tools like Terraform and Ansible.
  • Working experience with operating systems including Windows, and Linux, and their unique networking requirements.
  • Significant experience in global infrastructure design, build and implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem resolution skills.
  • Ability to lead discussions and take independent ownership of tasks.
  • Customer service skills (ability to deal with difficult & complex social situations).
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Team player who understands their role within the team and communicates with team members and management effectively.


Useful but not required:

  • Understanding and ability to write JSON ARM templates in Microsoft Azure.
  • O365 Application Experience
  • Understanding of SQL environments and/or Azure SQL
  • Experience with 3rd party backup technologies such as Commvault, Veeam
