NA Position Purpose

BNP Paribas Fortis started in 2022 its Cloud IaaS and PaaS migration, targeting the Landing Zone proposed by IBM/BP2I.

       BNPPF IT Service & Production (ISP) is responsible for the migration of the scheduling activities, in charge of 450 applications and +90000 jobs, in various environments.      

ISP is also guardian of the Production and must ensure that the migration will be efficient and keeping the same quality level, including failover operations for releases, incident and Disaster Recovery exercises.

       To increase the speed and to reduce the cost of migration, we plan to industrialize and automate our way of setting-up our scheduling landscape, including dependencies with file transfers, scripting, SQL, Oracle,  file handling, Windows, Linux and IIS.

To keep the same operational quality level as in Legacy, we also need to design our way of consuming network load balancer Cloud API, and to implement the required tooling and automation.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

As Automation OPS Engineer, you will be in contact with our applicative and infra tribes, and you will be in charge of finding the best way to optimize the migration efforts and implement the actual changes in the jobs, scripts, jcls, API,… then validate it end-to-end & cross-platforms.

As a member of ISP, you will be responsible of the automation solution for the scheduling jobs, loadbalancing , and it’s technical implementation . You will be a key player in the design, the documentation , the implementation and quality of the solution.

You will have the mandate to onboard other squads in the automation effort, to encourage them to automate, simplify and test recurrent activities linked to our scheduling scope.

You will also be expected to bring this automation mindset inside the squad, to make it sustainable, and to ensure comprehensive testing. Technical & Behavioral Competencies

·         Mandatory:

o    Experience in Shell (Unix/Linux) and Windows scripting (powershell)

o    Experience in automation

o    Experience in scheduling

·         Nice to have: experience in other automation languages

o    Python, ansible, git, TerraForm

·         Experience with Cloud Integration and/or Life Cycle Migration.

·         Knowledge of the main characteristics of Cloud Computing and the different types of Cloud services (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS)

·         General knowledge Cloud and Infra Technologies such as Kubernetes, Database, Object Specific Qualifications (if required)
