Position Summary  

Purpose  

The Technologist I, Infrastructure Applications is responsible for creating, testing and publishing software packages in an enterprise System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) deployment system.

Duties & Responsibilities  

Functions

ESSENTIAL

§  Create, test and publish SCCM packages and applications

§  Resolve software deployment and other problems related to software installation and use.

§  Troubleshoot and resolve installation and deployment issues affecting the workstation environment.

§  Work with technicians to help resolve software installation problems

§  Create technical end-user documentation on problem resolution.

  • Provide status reports to the leads and managers as required

Supervisory Responsibilities

§  This position has NO supervisory responsibilities.

Reporting Relationship

§  Reports to Infrastructure Applications Manager

Qualifications  

Qualifications

REQUIRED

§  Minimum five (2) years' experience in the below or equivalent combination of education and experience.

o    Creating and testing SCCM software applications and packages

§  Basic knowledge of the System Center Configuration Manager Console

§  Basic skills using Active Directory in a distributed global enviroment, basic scripting ability using Powershell, batch files, Autoit, Vbscript, etc., and basic knowledge of networking technologies such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.

DESIRED

§  Experience with Windows/Office patch deployment within SCCM

§  Familiar with creating and managing operating system images using SCCM

§  Experience with deployment tools such as AdminStudio or other enterprise software packaging tools

§  Basic knowledge of scheduling and deploying application upgrades in an enterprise enivironment

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics         

§  Basic  knowledge of System Center Configuration Manager.

§  Experience in automation technologies using scripting languages

§  Demonstrates strong troubleshooting skills

§  Creative thinker who actively pursues processes improvements

§  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from external and internal customers.

§  Ability to create technical documentation

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows. 

§  Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night

§  Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place
