DLF - Manager - Fire Safety (6-8 yrs)

Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with DLF Standards and Guidelines.

- Participate in setting the Fire Safety KPIs across DLF.

- Review efficacy of the Fire Safety Systems in place at specific locations as advised by Technical & Operations lead for the function and provide advice on continuous improvement.

- Support Business Units during HOTO on system acceptance testing through monitoring and liaison with relevant stakeholders.

- Carry out Fire Safety inspections, and audits.

- Advise on application of best practices as directed by the Technical & Operations Lead for the function.

- Fire Safety Induction and competency verification for key fire safety critical roles in Business Units.

- Lead/ be part of Investigations as required and follow up on actions from such investigations.

- Preparation of periodic reports and analysis for various forums as required at the Corporate level.

- Support Joint Operations Centre operations and emergency response when required

- Support the HSE and Security Effectiveness teams in executing of their roles and responsibilities

- Monitor improvement plans as required

- Closely monitor the fire safety training database and ensure that the gap between required and actual trainings is brought down to as low as reasonably practicable

- Any other Fire Safety related task as required to support the Technical & Operations Lead of the function

Experience Needed:

Exposure of:

- Frontline leadership positions in Fire Safety

- Building plans review and vetting pertaining to Fire Safety

- Working with design teams/ architects/ consultants in high-rise buildings (Residential, Business, Mercantile, Assembly and Mixed Occupancies)

- Fire protection system's specification review w.r.t National/ International codes or standards

- Fire Safety Management processes development and implementation in high-rise buildings

- Preventive maintenance of fixed and portable firefighting installations of high-rise buildings

- Data analysis and collation at the corporate level for large organizations

Knowledge:

- Knowledge of National Building Code of India- 2005 and 2016

- Knowledge of active and passive fire protection system installation such as - hydrants, sprinklers, fire alarm systems, fire suppression system, deluge systems, water spray systems, smoke management systems, pressurization systems, etc. as per Indian and NFPA code/ standards for buildings

- Knowledge of Factories Act/ Rules, Gas Cylinder Rules, SMPV Rules, MSIHC Rules, Petroleum Act/ Rules,

- 6 to 8 years of working experience with 3 to 5 yrs of experience in mid level fire safety leadership positions

Academic Background:

- B.E. (Fire)/ B.Tech. (Fire) / Pass in Membership Examination of IFE (UK)

- Bachelor in Science with Sub-Officer Course from National Fire Service College (Nagpur)
