Job description

What You'll Do

Play a key role in developing our Design System, serving designers and engineers across the entire organisation.
Implement concepts, user experiences, and user interfaces in our design system.
Collaborate closely with the designers in your team and support them in finding the best solution for every component.
Teach us what we don't know and how you want to improve our Design System to cater towards the needs of designers and engineers.
Take ownership of initiatives in your team from concept to delivery. Be a technical mentor and help the team grow.

 

Who you are

 

You have at least 5+ years of strong hands-on experience as a frontend engineer in a fast-paced organisation.
Multiple years of demonstrated experience working on large-scale design systems
Experience working in a cross-functional team together with product management, designers, and engineers.
Deep understanding of web technologies: HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, as well as modern frontend frameworks.
You previously worked with technologies like lit or stencil to create web components.
You have extensive experience in testing and documenting design systems for a technical audience.
Ability to learn quickly, iterate, unblock yourself, and persist until the right problem is solved.
You understand and live agile workflows and lean principles in your day-today work.
Experience working on cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure. Experience working with third-party system APIs and web services (especially GraphQL).
Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English, the ability to present confidently to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

 

We'd Particularly Love It If

 

You have extensive experience with Lit.
You have experience working in open-source communities or standards development.
Experience in Backend-Development in Programming Languages like Python or GO.
Ability to understand common UX patterns and to identify and mitigate UX design risks early in the development process
Able to demonstrate knowledge of front-end system design, interaction with backend APIs, and performance/security considerations.
