About Business line/Function: CIO Office - BNP Paribas India Solutions Private Limited (ISPL)

The ISPL platform is an integral part of BNP Paribas and is currently the Group's largest centre of expertise. It has a dynamic workforce with more than 5500 IT staff across three cities in India - Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore. 

ISPL platform activities span across technology, operations and functions, primarily supporting CIB (Corporate and Institutional Banking). ISPL has also become a key centre of expertise for IT Group (ITG), Finance, RISK and other Group activities.

The CIO office mandate is to lead ISPL IT through the next phase of its evolution to support our bank’s overall vision GTS2025 where IT transformation is crucial part and the need to shifting our operating model – One Bank One IT.

NA Position Purpose

As ISPL CIO Chief of Staff, the role holder will play a pivotal day-to-day operational role to support the CIO in driving tactical and strategic outcomes and operational excellence across our organisation. Reporting directly to the CIO, this high exposure, multifaceted position spans across CIB IT and IT Group with exposure to:

·         Strategic initiatives (GTS)

·         Portfolio and Transformation change management

·         Business management (resourcing, financial, HR, governance and reporting)

·         Executive collaboration across the organisation.

The responsibilities include both directed work that will mostly be triggered by direction from the CIO, as well as leadership work that is self-directed and includes inputs and priorities from the CIO leadership team. The role holder will work in close partnership with the CIO to drive programs and execute and monitor our business strategy. The role requires a sharp, critical thinker who can solve issues and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities Technical & Behavioral Competencies

CIO Support & CIO Office Oversight

·         Support the ISPL CIO and their leadership team in outlining and executing strategic goals

·         Collaborate closely with the CIO to align strategic priorities and drive the leadership team and wider organisation in a unified direction across of our IT ISPL Head of Clusters.

·         Act as an intermediary and liaison between the CIO and internal stakeholders

·         Provide acute situational awareness, having the ability to analyse and disseminate relevant information

·         In collaboration with CIO office, monitor progress against strategic initiatives, identify roadblocks and help clear them, ensuring common purpose across the organisation

·         Innovate, enhance, develop, implement and enforce organizational policies, plans and procedures by way of systems and processes that improve the overall organizational operation and optimise effectiveness

·         Nurture a collaborative approach with partners across IT, HR, Compliance, Finance, Communications and Governance teams (locally and globally) to ensure seamless planning, reporting, escalation and execution of related activities

·         Work in close partnership with the CIO Office, providing guidance to the administrative support team in prioritising, optimising and standardising processes in line with best practices and alignment to strategy

·         Oversight and directional involvement in CIO office activities covering:

o   Change Portfolio Management

o   Talent / Resource Management

o   Talent learning and development

o   TPRM & Vendor Management

o   Financial management including budgeting activities

o   Adherence to our Group Policies and Governance framework

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

·         Build, maintain and foster trusted relationships with senior leadership, functional heads, and team members

·         Identify areas to improve efficiency and collaboration, and lead on breaking down barriers

·         Interface between local and global partners and wider organisation

·         Serve as extension of CIO, standing in as appropriate in internal and external meetings

Communication and Alignment:

·         Share information across the organisation, and help reinforce core company messages in clear, comprehensive, and tangible manner

·         Manage, co-ordinate and facilitate flow of information between the CIO Office and various departments

Facilitate CIO led events and initiatives, including strategy sessions, town-halls, offsites/events
