Location: Gurgaon

What are we looking for?

  • Minimum 6 years experience of administering Linux/UNIX Operating Systems REDHAT Linux, SuSE and Solaris in an enterprise environment.
  • Solaris 10 and AIX knowledge will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge of tools like SuSE Manager, Foreman, Puppet, Satellite administration.


Responsibility of / Expectations from the Role

  • Knowledge of tools like SuSE Manager, Foreman, Puppet, Satellite administration.
  • Knowledge on HP hardware.
  • Knowledge of VMware/VSphere Virtual machine administration.
  • Strong knowledge and experience install, configure and supporting network services and applications, such as DNS, DHCP,NIS, FTP/SFTP, SSH, SMTP (Sendmail, Postfix), Apache, NFS, MySQL, X11, VNC, SMNP, Apache, IBM HTTP Server (IHS), etc.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
  • Available to work flexible 24/7 mainly Canadian hours.
  • Be used to working on large highly available systems.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Able to approach problem solving and resolution in a methodical way, i.e. Fault Analysis methodologies.
  • Be able to carry out Performance analysis using required tools.
  • Knowledge of BCP.
  • Experience of implementing secure systems.
  • Attend weekly team meetings, work on action lists and follow up items as required.
  • Undertake regular system monitoring/management and regular health checking as required.
  • Become aware of and follow Production Service Management processes and procedures (Incident/Change/Problem Management etc.)
  • Assist with gathering of statistics on system availability/resilience etc
  • Make themselves aware of published operational policies.
  • Check and update the Production ‘Risk Register’ as required.
  • Work with Internal Audit department as required
  • Work with Security/BCP department as required
  • Become aware of Primary ‘on-call’ requirements. (ie. immediate response and availability on a 24x7 basis).
