Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a PostgreSQL Developer – Subject Matter Expert, located in Chennai. The PostgreSQL Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining PostgreSQL databases, performing back-end web development, and ensuring the smooth operation of software systems.

The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in PostgreSQL SQL, including database design, fine-tuning, performance optimization, and advanced development practices. In addition to their technical expertise, the candidate will play a key role in creating educational content for PostgreSQL developer training courses, helping to share knowledge and mentor aspiring developers.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of professional experience in PostgreSQL SQL development and database management.
  • Expert-level knowledge of PostgreSQL concepts, including advanced SQL, PL/pgSQL programming, and database internals.
  • Proven expertise in query fine-tuning, performance analysis, and optimization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of database architecture, normalization, indexing, and partitioning.
  • Experience with high-availability solutions, replication, and disaster recovery mechanisms.
  • Hands-on experience with database monitoring tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to create engaging, accurate, and structured educational content for technical audiences.
  • Strong communication skills to deliver complex concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services and deployments (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure Database for PostgreSQL).
  • Knowledge of security best practices in database development and management.
