Principal Executive Recruiter - Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, & Life Sciences


We are seeking an experienced Principal Executive Recruiter with deep expertise in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences sectors. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for driving business growth by sourcing and placing executive talent for leadership roles in clinical research, development, and other strategic functions. You will work closely with senior leadership to align recruitment efforts with long-term business objectives, ensuring the acquisition of transformative talent that fuels innovation and organizational success.


This role is designed for candidates who can prove their ability to acquire new business, generate revenue, and build strong networks within Pharmaceutical, Biotech, and CRO companies. Successful candidates will demonstrate a well-established network of contacts and a track record of placing top-tier talent in the life sciences industry.  


Key Responsibilities:


Business Development & Client Relationships:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities by pitching recruitment services to prospective clients and negotiating contracts.
  • Leverage your network to maintain and expand long-term relationships with clients and executive candidates, ensuring a high-quality recruitment experience from initial engagement through onboarding.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to clients by aligning recruitment strategies with their business needs.


Strategic Talent Acquisition:

  • Develop and implement robust recruitment strategies to identify and attract top executive talent across critical functions.
  • Proactively conduct market research and maintain a strong talent pipeline for executive roles, staying ahead of industry trends to identify key opportunities.
  • Align recruitment efforts with the latest developments in the biotech, pharma, and life sciences sectors to ensure the best candidate placements.


Executive Search & Leadership:

  • Lead the full executive search process, including conducting in-depth assessments of candidate qualifications, leadership potential, and cultural fit.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align talent acquisition strategies with the company’s long-term growth objectives, providing insights and recommendations to key decision-makers.
  • Present comprehensive candidate profiles and strategic recommendations to senior leadership for effective hiring decisions.


Team Leadership & Performance Management:

  • Manage and mentor a team of recruiters, providing training, guidance, and goal setting to ensure both team and individual success.
  • Oversee the recruitment lifecycle, from candidate sourcing to final placement, while contributing to overall revenue growth and client satisfaction.


Process Improvement & Diversity Initiatives:

  • Lead initiatives to continuously enhance the recruitment process, incorporating the latest tools, technologies, and best practices.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion by promoting diverse hiring practices and building a pipeline of executive candidates from various backgrounds.
  • Implement metrics and tracking systems to measure the success and efficiency of recruitment efforts.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven expertise in executive search methodologies and advanced recruitment assessment tools.
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence senior leaders in high-stakes hiring decisions.
  • Strong organizational skills with a focus on project management and problem-solving.
  • High level of discretion and integrity when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments, with an emphasis on analytical skills for continuous process improvements.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • 20+ years of increasing recruitment experience and responsibly with a proven track record of placing entry to C-level talent in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences industries.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and CRM tools to manage candidate pipelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
