JOB DECRIPTION


The Nurse Educator is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that enhance the clinical skills and knowledge of nursing staff. This role involves developing training materials, conducting workshops, and ensuring that nursing staff adhere to evidence-based practices and hospital policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical background, excellent teaching skills, and a commitment to advancing nursing practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Development & Implementation:
  • Design and develop educational programs and training materials based on the needs of nursing staff and hospital standards.
  • Conduct orientation programs for newly hired nurses, ensuring they understand hospital protocols, patient care standards, and safety guidelines.
  • Organize regular in-service training sessions, workshops, and seminars to keep nursing staff updated on the latest healthcare practices.
  • Clinical Training & Support:
  • Provide hands-on clinical training and support to nursing staff, focusing on enhancing their practical skills and patient care techniques.
  • Observe nursing staff during patient care, providing feedback and guidance to improve their clinical competencies.
  • Serve as a resource for nurses, addressing their questions and supporting them in complex or challenging clinical situations.
  • Evaluation & Quality Assurance:
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs by gathering feedback, conducting evaluations, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Monitor and ensure adherence to hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and best practices across nursing teams.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to identify areas where nursing performance and patient care can be enhanced.
  • Mentorship & Professional Development:
  • Act as a mentor to nursing staff, encouraging continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Assist in career development planning for nurses, identifying training opportunities to meet their career goals.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment, promoting teamwork and collaboration within the nursing department.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate records of training sessions, participant attendance, and competency assessments.
  • Prepare reports on training outcomes, progress, and identified areas for further development.
  • Ensure all educational content and practices are up to date with the latest evidence-based nursing practices.
  • Skills:
  • Strong clinical and teaching skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
  • Proficiency in using educational technology, such as online learning platforms, and presentation tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
