QA Manager with 8+ Years

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated QA Manager with a minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance and testing. The QA Manager will be responsible for leading the QA team, developing and implementing QA strategies, and ensuring the highest quality standards for our software products. This role requires strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of QA methodologies, and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of QA engineers, including setting goals, providing feedback, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • QA Strategy and Planning
  • Develop and implement comprehensive QA strategies and processes to ensure high-quality software delivery.
  • Define and maintain QA standards, procedures, and metrics to measure and improve product quality.
  • Collaborate with product management and development teams to understand product requirements and design test plans accordingly.
  • Test Management
  • Oversee the design, development, and execution of test plans and test cases for functional, integration, regression, and performance testing.
  • Ensure thorough testing of software releases, including automated and manual testing.
  • Monitor and report on test execution, defect tracking, and overall quality status.
  • Process Improvement
  • Continuously evaluate and improve QA processes, tools, and methodologies.
  • Implement best practices for test automation and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
  • Drive initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA team.
  • Risk Management
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to software quality and testing.
  • Ensure timely resolution of issues and defects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to assess project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Stakeholder Communication
  • Communicate QA status, issues, and risks to stakeholders, including senior management, product owners, and development teams.
  • Provide regular updates on QA metrics, test progress, and defect status.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all QA-related activities and inquiries.
  • Quality Advocacy
  • Advocate for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, tools, and technologies in quality assurance and testing.

Required Qualifications

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in quality assurance or project management are a plus.
  • Experience
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing QA teams and delivering high-quality software products.
  • Strong experience with test automation tools and frameworks, such as Selenium, JUnit, TestNG, or similar.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes.
  • Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in one or more programming/scripting languages, such as Java, Python, or JavaScript.
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and software testing life cycle (STLC).
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile teams.
  • Soft Skills
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality and accuracy.
