Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled PCB Designer to contribute to high-level IoT and Robotics projects. This role requires expertise in PCB design for IoT hardware, covering all aspects from schematic capture to DFM analysis. You will collaborate closely with our hardware and embedded systems engineers to deliver highly optimized and functional PCB designs that integrate seamlessly into larger systems.


Key Responsibilities:

  • PCB Schematic Design & Layout: Design and develop PCB schematics for IoT hardware systems, including RF, Bluetooth, and other communication modules.
  • Component Selection: Analyze system requirements and select components that balance performance, reliability, and cost, including power management ICs, RF modules, and microcontrollers.
  • Eagle PCB Design: Utilize Autodesk Eagle for schematic capture, layout, and optimization, focusing on high-performance IoT applications. Experience in multilayer PCB design is highly desirable.
  • PCBA (Printed Circuit Board Assembly): Create and maintain PCBA files, including BOM (Bill of Materials), Gerber files, and component placement files for manufacturing.
  • DFM/DFT (Design for Manufacturing and Testing): Conduct DFM and DFT analysis to ensure the PCB design can be manufactured efficiently and meets industry standards.
  • Gerber Generation: Generate and review Gerber files for PCB manufacturing, ensuring accurate layer stack-up, trace routing, and component placement.
  • Signal Integrity & EMI/EMC Compliance: Ensure designs maintain signal integrity and comply with electromagnetic interference (EMI) and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) standards, particularly in high-speed or mixed-signal circuits.
  • Prototyping & Testing: Collaborate with the hardware development team to prototype, test, and validate PCB designs, addressing component placement or manufacturing issues.
  • Documentation & Maintenance: Maintain detailed design files, version control, and technical documentation for current and future projects. Provide support for improving and troubleshooting existing PCBA designs.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including embedded engineers, firmware developers, and mechanical engineers to ensure optimal performance and integration of PCB designs within larger systems.


Required Skill Set:

  • PCB Design Expertise: Strong knowledge of PCB design principles, including multilayer design, impedance control, and thermal management for IoT and embedded systems.
  • Component Knowledge: Deep understanding of electronic components like diodes, transistors, op-amps, relays, voltage regulators, with experience in high-speed or power electronics design.
  • Software Proficiency: Expertise in Autodesk Eagle for PCB design and schematic capture. Familiarity with additional design tools like Altium Designer or OrCAD is a plus.
  • Design Standards: Knowledge of IPC standards for PCB design, assembly, and testing methodologies for high-reliability IoT products.
  • Troubleshooting & Debugging: Excellent problem-solving skills for debugging circuit designs and optimizing PCBs for performance and manufacturability.
  • Signal Integrity/EMI-EMC: Experience ensuring compliance with signal integrity and EMI/EMC standards, especially for RF designs.


Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with IoT protocols (Wi-Fi, LoRa, Zigbee, Bluetooth).
  • RF layout and antenna design expertise.
  • Familiarity with 3D PCB modeling and mechanical constraints.


Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Degree/Diploma: Bachelor's or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in PCB design for IoT or embedded systems projects, with a proven track record of successful designs.
