CAD-IT UK Ltd is seeking a Software Tester to join our Professional Services team providing cutting edge expertise in service lifecycle management (SLM), technical publications solutions and content creation, working across a wide variety of industrial sectors including Aerospace & Defence, Automotive, Rail and Heavy Industry.


CAD-IT are a global dynamic software sales and consulting company focusing primarily on Industry 4.0 within the service and manufacturing areas. This includes solutions for SLM (Service Lifecycle Management), Industrial IoT (Internet of Things) and XR (mixed reality). We are global partners with Siemens PLM and Cortona3D as well as providing many CAD-IT proprietary solutions.

As our business continues to grow, we require a Software Tester to support our increasing global presence. The role requires a highly competent industry professional, able to support the business and our customers, and deliver a variety of support.


Expectations of the role

  • To plan, estimate, design and execute system tests for both CAD-IT and our customers, which include:
  • Siemens Teamcenter
  • Cortona3D RapidAuthor
  • Cloud Services
  • Custom built applications that utilise the MS development suite
  • Online Portals
  • Augmented Reality Solutions
  • Work closely with the Solution Architects and Software Developers to develop and execute on efficient test strategies.


Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience of working under different development methodologies SDLC and STLC (such as Iterative and Agile)
  • Strong testing experience, both with bespoke applications and third-party products on a predominantly Siemens Teamcenter RAC and AWC clients and Microsoft platform – HTML5, C#.Net, ASP.Net, Windows 8.1, MS Exchange, SQL Server 2012 or later, and XML
  • Experience with testing tools eg Jira, Testopia, Bugzilla, and test automation software
  • A well-developed understanding of preparing and reviewing test plans, review/sign-off test strategies, scope and test estimates
  • Experience in working with semi-complex or complex requirements.
  • Strong experience with executing functional testing. Experience with non-functional testing will be beneficial.
  • A good understanding of test methodologies. This includes knowledge of different types of testing, test pyramid and different testing tools.
  • A good knowledge of test design techniques and the ability to create comprehensive test cases by applying design techniques.
  • Understanding and experience in using Automated Testing tools would be a great advantage.
  • Strong experience in defect management and defect tracking. Experience with bugs investigation and localisation.
  • Good knowledge of agile frameworks including SCRUM/Kanban.
  • 3+ years’ experience of working in a software test environment
  • Familiarity of working in an international cross functional team
  • English speaking. German or French speaking at a professional/business level
  • Experience of manufacturing industries, Automotive, Aerospace or Heavy Industry would be beneficial.
