Position Overview: We are looking for a Functional Safety Engineer who has a solid background in RTL coding to ensure the highest levels of safety and reliability in our products. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with functional safety standards (such as ISO 26262) and experience in designing and implementing RTL code for safety-critical applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Functional Safety Engineering:
  • Develop and implement functional safety concepts, strategies, and requirements based on industry standards (e.g., ISO 26262).
  • Conduct safety analysis, including Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Safety Requirements Specification.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with safety standards throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • RTL Coding:
  • Design, develop, and verify RTL code for safety-critical components, ensuring adherence to functional safety requirements.
  • Perform RTL simulation, synthesis, and timing analysis to validate design correctness and safety.
  • Work on the integration of safety mechanisms into RTL designs to meet safety goals and requirements.
  • Documentation and Compliance:
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for safety-related designs and processes.
  • Support safety audits and reviews, ensuring all documentation and processes meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with hardware and software engineers to integrate safety features into the overall system design.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to team members on functional safety and RTL coding issues.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in functional safety engineering, with a strong focus on RTL coding.
  • Hands-on experience with RTL design languages (e.g., Verilog, VHDL).
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as ISO 26262 or similar.
  • Experience with safety analysis techniques and tools.
  • Proficiency in RTL simulation and verification tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience with safety-critical systems in [specific industry, e.g., automotive, aerospace].
  • Familiarity with safety tools and methodologies (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink for safety analysis).
  • Knowledge of hardware/software co-design and integration.
