This internship provides a unique chance to engage in hands-on fieldwork, documenting successful climate adaptation efforts and contributing to sustainable development in the region. Position: Intern (Multiple Positions Available)


Location: Roorkee, Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Tehri Districts, Uttarakhand


Duration: Interns can join for a period of 2 to 6 months between October 2024 and March 2025. Attending a two-day orientation training to be held end of September or early October 2024 is compulsory for all.

About the Opportunity:

Tri-Impact Global, a leading organization dedicated to promoting resilient, inclusive growth in the heritage textiles, renewable energy, and other environmental sectors, is looking for passionate and motivated interns to join our team. As part of our ongoing initiative to document and promote climate adaptation in Uttarakhand, we are recruiting a group of interns to identify and document the pioneers of climate adaptation in the Agriculture, Housing, and Renewable Energy sectors across Roorkee, Haridwar, Dehradun, Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Tehri districts. Additional districts of Uttarakhand may be included as the project progresses.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field assessments to identify and document successful climate adaptation initiatives in the specified districts.
  • Engage with key stakeholders such as climate adaptation pioneers, local communities, government officials, NGOs, academicians, and other stakeholders to gather insights and data.
  • Document the successes of the identified pioneers of climate adaptation.
  • Assist in organizing and facilitating stakeholder meetings in various districts to share findings and promote collaboration.
  • Collaborate with the Tri-Impact Global team to support ongoing climate adaptation projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled student or recent graduate of Master of Social Work program, sociology, renewable energy, agriculture, housing, environmental studies, climate and technology, and related fields.
  • Strong interest in climate adaptation in energy, housing and agriculture sectors, sustainable development, and community engagement.
  • Excellent coordination, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel within the specified districts.


Remuneration:

·      The intern will receive a small stipend based on their experience.

·      The exact stipend will be discussed during the interview process.
