Job Summary:

The Medical Superintendent is responsible for managing and supervising the hospital's medical, administration staff, and services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. The role involves coordinating with various departments to maintain and improve hospital operations, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations, and developing medical policies and procedures.


Key Responsibilities:

·      Medical Services Management:

  • Oversee and manage all medical services, including inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical.
  • Ensure that all medical departments comply with hospital policies, procedures, and healthcare regulations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of medical staff and services, ensuring quality patient care.

·      Staff Supervision and Development:

  • Lead and supervise a team of doctors, nurses, and other medical and non-medical professionals.
  • Conduct regular meetings with medical and non-medical staff to address issues, share updates, and provide guidance.

·      Policy and Procedure Development:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor hospital policies and procedures related to medical services.
  • Ensure adherence to all legal and ethical standards in medical practices.
  • Collaborate with the hospital administration to develop and review clinical guidelines.

·      Quality Assurance and Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with national and local healthcare regulations and standards.
  • Lead quality assurance initiatives, including patient safety programs and infection control measures.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of medical services to identify areas for improvement.

·      Financial Management:

  • Work with the finance department to prepare and manage the budget for medical services.
  • Monitor and control the financial performance of the medical departments, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee the procurement and maintenance of medical equipment and supplies.

·      Strategic Planning:

  • Participate in the strategic planning and development of hospital services.
  • Collaborate with the hospital’s executive team to develop long-term goals and objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for expansion and improvement of medical services.

·      Patient Relations:

  • Address patient complaints and concerns related to medical services.
  • Ensure that patient care standards are upheld at all times.
  • Promote a culture of patient-centered care throughout the hospital.

·      Community and Public Relations:

  • Represent the hospital in medical and community events.
  • Promote the hospital’s services within the community.
Qualifications:
  • MBBS, MD/MS degree, and a Master’s degree in Hospital Administration (MBA/MHA) is preferred.
  • Valid medical license and registration with the appropriate medical council.
  • 10+ years of experience in a senior medical or administrative role in a hospital.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and quality assurance processes.
