Work Location : Bangalore(Ashok nagar) Hybrid MOdel

Contract to hire position

The Senior Data Engineer provides data scientists, analytics engineers, and business analysts, as well as reporting and analysis tools, with timely, accurate, reliable data and infrastructure. Degreed amasses a high volume of structured and unstructured data in multiple production systems. In this role, you’ll take ownership of designing and building data infrastructure and data pipelining that data together into various repositories to enable reporting, data analysis, efficient data architecture, and data modeling. In addition, you’ll assist the Data Science team in accessing and making sense of data in its raw form.



Day in the Life

Enhance and support the current data infrastructure that enables the data engineering team to create meaningful data integrations

Build a secure, stable, reliable, scalable infrastructure that helps to support the teams growing needs

Data infrastructure, data pipeline and data modeling

Background creating infrastructures utilizing Airflow, Kubernetes, and Python

Work closely with stakeholders to drive future infrastructure initiatives for internal use

Create utilities that surfaces what is happening with data pipelines and the infrastructure

Write documentation that provides insights to the use and main the infrastructure

Mentor and upskill engineers on the team

Who You Are

Team player and self starter who excels at at working towards a common goal with minimal guidance

5+ Data Engineering including Data Modeling (including developing conceptual, logical, and physical data models), ETL/ELT, Data Lakes, and Data Warehousing and building Data Platforms on cloud-based infrastructure such as Azure, AWS, GCP, etc

2+ years experience with CI/CD pipelines that utilize Github Actions

3+ years experience with Linux systems like Ubuntu and Bash

3+ years experience writing performant, maintainable, and scalable Python services

4+ years working with SQL such as Sql Server, Postgres, MySql, Snowflake

2+ years of experience deploying and maintaining CI/CD-enabled high-availability production services

3+ years of experience with one or more data pipeline platforms like Airflow, Stitch, Spark or others

2+ years of writing automated testing using tools like pytest

Practical experience with software development processes and tools such as Scrum, code reviews, GitHub, Jira, etc.

Are a lifelong learner who is always upskilling their current knowledge and adding new skills

What Sets You Apart

Experience utilizing Dbt to actualize models

Exposure to Jinja coding

Experience using and developing on Snowflake

Practical hands on experience with creating Airflow DAG’s and Kubernetes

Educational/Certification Requirements

Bachelors or Masters degree in a field like Computer Science, Data Analytics, Software Engineering
