We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Tyre Procurement Specialist to join our team at Dunlop Tires. The role involves collaborating with manufacturers, suppliers, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders to optimize our tire supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement effective procurement strategies for tires, focusing on cost reduction, quality, and supply chain efficiency.
- Analyze market trends, competitors, and customer demands to forecast tire purchasing needs.
- Supplier Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global and domestic tire suppliers and manufacturers.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure favorable terms for the company.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations and ensure compliance with agreed terms.
- Order Management:
- Place tire orders based on inventory levels, sales forecasts, and customer requirements.
- Track and monitor orders to ensure timely delivery and quality control.
- Resolve any issues related to delivery delays, quality concerns, or discrepancies with the suppliers.
- Inventory Control & Stock Management:
- Ensure optimal tire stock levels to meet customer demand without overstocking.
- Coordinate with the logistics and warehouse teams to ensure seamless storage and distribution.
- Monitor tire usage trends and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Cost & Budget Management:
- Manage the tire procurement budget effectively, ensuring cost control while maintaining product quality and supply reliability.
- Identify opportunities to reduce procurement costs and improve profitability.
- Market Research & Trend Analysis:
- Conduct ongoing research into new tire products, innovations, and industry developments.
- Stay updated on market pricing, demand, and competitors to ensure competitive pricing strategies.
- Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety standards for tire procurement.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and reports for auditing and reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field (preferred).
- Proven experience (3+ years) in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the automotive or tire industry.
- Strong knowledge of tire products, manufacturers, and the global tire market.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in using procurement software, MS Excel, and other relevant tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and best practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in a global procurement role with exposure to international markets.
- Knowledge of tire industry certifications and quality standards
