Job Summary:
The Jewellery Plating Department Supervisor oversees the plating operations within the jewellery manufacturing process.
This role ensures high-quality standards, efficient production workflows, and adherence to safety protocols. Plating lead
manages a team of plating technicians, coordinates plating activities, and ensures timely delivery of plated jewellery pieces.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision and Leadership:
o Lead and supervise a team of plating technicians, ensuring they adhere to production schedules and
quality standards.
o Provide training and guidance to new and existing team members on plating processes and safety
protocols.
o Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, address issues, and provide feedback.
Production Management:
o Plan, schedule, and coordinate plating operations to meet production targets and deadlines.
o Monitor the plating process to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency.
o Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during the plating process.
Quality Control:
o Conduct inspections of plated jewellery pieces to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
o Implement and maintain quality control procedures to minimize defects and rework.
o Work closely with the quality assurance team to address any quality-related issues.
Process Improvement:
o Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.
o Implement best practices and innovative solutions to optimize the plating process.
o Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in plating technology and techniques.
Inventory and Resource Management:
o Manage inventory of plating materials, chemicals, and supplies.
o Order necessary materials and ensure timely availability to avoid production delays.
o Maintain accurate records of inventory levels and usage.
Safety and Compliance:
o Ensure all plating activities comply with safety regulations and company policies.
o Conduct safety training sessions and enforce safety protocols among plating staff.
o Investigate accidents or incidents related to the plating process and implement corrective actions.
Reporting and Documentation:
o Maintain detailed records of plating operations, including production data, quality reports, and
maintenance logs.
o Prepare and submit regular reports to the Production Manager/Operations Manager on department
performance and productivity.
o Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with company standards.
Qualifications:
Education:
o B-Tech/Diploma /BSC or equivalent. Technical or vocational training in jewellery manufacturing or a
related field is preferred.
Experience:
o Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in jewellery plating or a related field, with at least 3-4 years in a
supervisory role.
o Proven experience in managing a team and overseeing production processes.
