Overview
As the Vice President – BFSI, you will play a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of our Public Relations firm's BFSI portfolio. You will be responsible for overseeing client relationships, leading high-impact campaigns, and providing thought leadership to help shape the communication strategies for leading banking, financial services, and insurance organizations. This senior leadership role requires a deep understanding of the BFSI sector, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to manage a dynamic team in a fast-paced environment.
Job Functions
Strategic Leadership
- Lead the development and execution of PR strategies and campaigns tailored to the BFSI sector, ensuring alignment with client objectives, market trends, and industry regulations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior executives in the BFSI sector, providing counsel on reputation management, crisis communication, and stakeholder engagement.
- Drive business development efforts, identifying new opportunities and expanding existing client relationships in the BFSI space.
Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key stakeholders in BFSI clients, including C-suite executives, investors, regulators, and media.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring a high level of service, timely deliverables, and superior communication outcomes.
- Conduct regular meetings with clients to assess their evolving PR needs, making recommendations for new strategies and services
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of PR professionals, helping them grow in their careers and achieve professional goals.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture that encourages innovation, creativity, and client-centric thinking.
- Oversee team execution of media outreach, content creation, crisis communications, and digital strategies for BFSI clients.
Industry Expertise & Innovation
- Stay on top of the latest developments in the BFSI sector, including regulatory changes, emerging trends, and competitor activities.
- Lead the firm’s thought leadership efforts in the BFSI space by publishing insights, participating in industry panels, and engaging in media outreach.
- Ensure the firm’s PR strategies are cutting-edge, utilizing new tools and channels (including digital, social media, and influencer partnerships).
Campaign Management & Performance Tracking
- Oversee the planning, execution, and measurement of PR campaigns, ensuring they meet or exceed client expectations.
- Use data analytics and media monitoring tools to assess the impact of campaigns, provide regular reports to clients, and optimize ongoing strategies.
- Manage budgets for client accounts and ensure efficient resource allocation.
Preferred Competencies -
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications, or similarly applicable field is required; Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- At least 18 years of relevant experience in Communications Marketing and/or related fields, including PR, digital, research, advertising, management consulting or media.
- Must be a natural collaborator, a skilled problem-solver and the type of hands-on leader for whom no job is too big or too small.
- Exemplary communication – active listening, negotiation, and persuasion.
- Targeted, client- and growth-focused decision-making; proven expert judgment, calculated risk-taking and exceptional strategic thinking.
- Ability to identify and reconcile competing interests, while maintaining high emotional intelligence.
- Entrepreneurial spirit, strong leadership qualities and a team player attitude.
- Operational know-how and an ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Clear understanding of financial metrics and agency management.
