As we expand our tech team in Kochi, we are looking for enthusiastic junior QA engineers who are passionate about quality, automation, and problem-solving, and eager to grow with a startup.

Role Overview

As a Junior QA Engineer, you will play a key role in ensuring high-quality releases across our mobile app, web app, and backend APIs.

This role is hands-on and hybrid — you will be doing manual exploratory testing while also building automation scripts to streamline regression and smoke testing.

You will work directly with developers, designers, and product managers, gaining exposure to end-to-end product development and learning how to deliver high-quality software in a fast-paced startup environment.

• Analyze requirements and create detailed test plans, cases, and scenarios.
• Perform manual testing for mobile apps, web apps, and APIs.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for regression and smoke tests.
• Validate backend services using automated API tests (Postman or similar).
• Execute tests, document results, and track bugs using issue tracking tools like JIRA.
• Collaborate closely with developers to reproduce, diagnose, and fix bugs quickly.
• Ensure proper test coverage before each release.
• Integrate test suites into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality checks.
• Continuously improve QA processes and suggest new tools or frameworks.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–2 years of experience in QA (manual and/or automation).
• Strong understanding of QA fundamentals, SDLC, and STLC.
• Experience with manual testing of mobile and web apps.
• Basic knowledge of automation tools and frameworks such as:
• Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium (for UI testing)
• Postman or REST Assured (for API testing)
• Familiarity with Git and version control systems.
• Clear problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills in English.

Eagerness to learn, take initiative, and grow in a fast-moving startup environment.

• Knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript or Python for writing test scripts.
• Experience testing React Native mobile apps.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL or basic SQL queries for data validation.
• Exposure to AWS services and CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or AWS CodePipeline.
• Understanding of performance testing concepts.
