Job Purpose:

Technology Lead for Middle Office Technology within India Technology team. Program / Projects management and BAU production support of Finance and Risk platforms for India market.


Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the country Finance and Risk Technology team, responsible for ensuring timely delivery of programs / projects as well as ensuring platform stability and prompt response / resolution in the event of production issues.
  • Work with Country Core Banking team & Product partners to establish a process to support the new product launch by stitching downstream platform’s participation and execution of UAT.
  • Act as a domain expert of Finance Platform for business as well as technology partners/colleagues.


Job Duties & responsibilities:

  • Financial management of project in terms of tracking actuals v/s budget
  • Ensuring adequate project governance and risk management measures are in place
  • Preparation and effective tracking of project plans / tasks / milestones with multiple stakeholders
  • Timely detection and escalation of issues / showstoppers / pending tasks
  • Prepare and publish required MIS reports to seniors indicating project status
  • Liaise with required teams to ensure projects are progressed and completed as per plan
  • Identify risks and form contingency plan
  • Ensure regular tracking of production issues in terms of RCA and preventive actions
  • Focus on continuous improvement and foster adoption of DBS values within the team
  • Ensure regular connect with stakeholders and publishing of key metrics
  • Ensure adherence within the domain to applicable IS and compliance standards / policies and timely completion of required actions therein.
  • Guide & train team members on the technical aspects of platform by leveraging his/her expertise.


Required Experience:

15-20 years of work experience with Core banking technology domain


Education / Preferred Qualifications:

BE, MBA

AGILE, PMP, SIX Sigma certifications would be an added advantage


Core Competencies:

  • Effective communication skills, ability to connect with senior stakeholders in the bank and in the region
  • Experience in managing technology delivery and production support teams
  • Experience in Agile methodologies, SRE practices, process improvement methodologies
  • Experience in delivery of large technology projects / programs, senior stakeholder management, vendor management, financial management, etc.


Technical Competencies:


  • Overall awareness of banking products (Corporate & Retail) and organization structure
  • Hands-on knowledge on Risk & Finance Platforms in a bank, specialised in Finance & Risk areas (Credit Origination, Risk Reporting, Collections etc)
  • Functional knowledge and technical understanding of key Risk and Finance modules including, Regulatory Reporting
  • Experience in file based and API based integrations of Risk applications with partner systems and entities
  • Experience in multi-year project implementation would be an added advantage
