Job Summary:


We are looking for a skilled GIS Project Manager specializing in 3D City Modelling to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in managing GIS projects and a strong background in 3D modelling and geospatial technologies. This role involves leading the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive 3D City model for the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). The successful candidate will also manage change detection processes and coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the project's success.


Key Responsibilities:


  • 3D City Model Development: Lead the creation and implementation of a detailed 3D City model for BMC, ensuring that all aspects of the city are accurately represented and integrated.
  • Change Detection: Oversee the implementation of change detection systems using geospatial technologies, including satellite imagery and LiDAR data, to monitor and update the 3D model.
  • GIS Project Management: Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of GIS projects, from planning and execution to maintenance, ensuring they meet project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders within BMC to gather, integrate, and manage data effectively for the 3D City model.
  • Data Quality Management: Ensure the accuracy, quality, and consistency of geospatial data throughout the project, implementing processes for regular updates and maintenance.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Provide regular progress reports and presentations to senior management and other stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and achievements.
  • Technology Integration: Stay updated with the latest advancements in GIS and 3D modelling technologies, and integrate these into the project to enhance efficiency and accuracy.


Required Skills:


  • Technical Skills:
  • 1) Expertise in 3D modelling software (e.g., SketchUp, AutoCAD, Esri City Engine).
  • 2) Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS).
  • 3) Strong knowledge of change detection methodologies and remote sensing techniques.
  • 4) Experience working with LiDAR data and satellite imagery.
  • Project Management: Excellent project management skills, with experience in handling project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, particularly in the context of geospatial data and 3D modeling.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.


Key Duties:


  • Model Development: Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive 3D City model for BMC, incorporating data from various sources.
  • Maintenance and Updates: Establish and manage processes for regular updates and maintenance of the 3D model, ensuring it reflects the latest changes in the cityscape.
