We are seeking a dynamic Senior Security Engineer, Detection & Response to join our security team. In this role, you will provide advanced (Level 2) support to our managed Security Operations Center (SOC), safeguarding our corporate, cloud, and production environments through sophisticated monitoring and analysis of security alerts and emerging threats.


As a key member of our team, you'll collaborate closely with security, IT, and engineering teams to develop comprehensive knowledge of our ecosystem. This expertise will enable you to serve effectively as an Incident Commander when needed, coordinating incident resolution across teams to maintain 24/7 coverage.


Your role in vulnerability management will include analyzing security advisories and threat intelligence feeds to drive proactive security measures throughout the organization. Through cross-functional collaboration, you'll help ensure the comprehensive protection of our digital assets.


Key Responsibilities: Security Operations:

  • Lead Level 2 support for our managed SOC, monitoring security alerts and events across multiple platforms including corporate tools, WAF, SIEM systems, and AWS to identify potential security incidents and vulnerabilities
  • Execute sophisticated threat hunting and forensic investigations to identify IOCs and malicious activity patterns
  • Lead incident resolution as Incident Commander, coordinating with cross-functional teams to maintain 24/7 security coverage
  • Implement and manage Cloud Detection & Response platforms to enable automated notification and containment workflows


Detection Engineering:

  • Enhance and develop detection rules, configurations, and automations in response to emerging threats and environmental changes
  • Collaborate with the managed SOC to create and optimize custom playbooks
  • Develop and maintain automated detection and response tools following SSDLC best practices
  • Ensure comprehensive logging coverage to maintain maximum threat visibility
  • Oversee Cloudflare security implementations, including WAF rules and DDoS protection
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen our security posture


Vulnerability Management:

  • Analyze security advisories, threat intelligence feeds, and vendor updates to identify critical threats and implement protective measures


Qualifications: Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
  • 5-7+ years of experience in SOC analysis or security operations


Technical Requirements:

  • Advanced proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Bash, and PowerShell
  • Demonstrated expertise with AWS security services and best practices
  • Hands-on experience with Cloudflare, SentinelOne, Okta, and similar security platforms
  • Deep understanding of network protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
