Position Summary

Ours is a complex digital and analytical data engineering platform built on a set of AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, MySQL, DocumentDB, Kinesis, Glue, Athena and Redshift based technologies. Our data engineering team delivers OLTP data models for our digital e-commerce platform and OLAP data models for our DWH/Data Lake environment which are strongly coupled with Kinesis based real time and Python based batch processes. We process large volume of data in a Spark based distributed processing environment. We work with a larger set of technologies experts from on Java, UI, AI/ML etc. and deliver an integrated financial platform - Finserv Markets.

We are looking for a data engineering professional with high level of proficiencies in Python, PySpark, data modeling and SQL query development. Our is a complex financial data domain with lots of complex data logic to be codified in a distributed cum non-distributed data processing platform. The person should have strong understanding of database, data lake and data modelling concepts. The person should be willing to learn new technologies and implement a best practice solution in AWS environment. S/He should be a core programmer at heart and willing to learn new AWS based data technologies.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Understand of existing data models and develop new data models across multiple areas like digital platform (OLTP), data warehouse (OLAP) and data lake applications.
  • Understand of existing data architecture, data flow processes in Aurora MySQL, MongoDB etc. and develop new processes across multiple data layers using Spark and Kafka based tools.
  • Performance tuning across multiple data platforms and developing new home-grown tools for the same.

Desired Skills

  1. Overall 10+ years of experience in Python, RDBMS and data engineering
  2. Strong hands on experience on Python
  3. Experience working on Pyspark
  4. Experience working on Datawarehouse/Data lake project
  5. Strong hands on experience in any RDBMS like PostgreSQL
  6. Understanding of NOSQL DB like MongoDB
  7. Strong in complex SQL queries, python programming
  8. Should have good understanding of OLTP and OLAP data modelling
  9. Should have strong concept of SQL performance tuning options
  10. Understanding threading concepts and multi-processing architecture
  11. Understanding and hands on experience on event-driven architecture
  12. Understanding of various data file formats like Parquet, Avro, JSON etc.
  13. A core programmer with high level of debugging and problem-solving skills
