About the role


We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic IB PYP Librarian to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting our Primary Years Programme (PYP) by managing our library, collaborating with teachers, and promoting a culture of reading and inquiry.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and organize the school library, ensuring it is a welcoming and resourceful space for students and staff.
  • Collaborate with Literacy Coaches and Home Room Teachers to support the inquiry-based curriculum through relevant resources and activities.
  • Promote a love of reading and literacy among students through various programs and initiatives.
  • Conduct library orientations, book talks, and research skills workshops for students and staff.
  • Maintain an up-to-date and diverse collection of books and digital resources.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages students' independent reading and learning.
  • Stay current with best practices in library management and educational trends.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Library Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience working in a school library, preferably within an IB PYP setting.
  • Strong knowledge of children's literature and inquiry-based learning.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in library management systems and digital resources.
  • Passion for promoting literacy and a love of reading in young learners.
