Job Summary:


TE Connectivity’s Engineering Project Managers lead cross-functional engineering projects, collaborating with Product Management, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, Finance, and other teams to ensure projects meet financial, schedule, and customer expectations.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Define and create project schedules, and communication plans, and execute projects, identifying resource constraints and working with management for issue resolution.
  • Direct cross-functional project team members and be fully accountable to the Project Approval Committee (PAC) for all assigned projects.
  • Lead projects to successful conclusions, meeting targets related to design requirements, Opex, Capex, and timelines.
  • Provide leadership over New Product Development and Life Cycle Engineering projects.
  • Act as the “General Manager/Leader” for the project, ensuring design requirements and contractual obligations are met.
  • Proactively drive the details of the Project Charter and ensure P&L accuracy through all project phases.
  • Define, scope, and initiate projects, understanding and identifying all internal and external requirements.
  • Ensure project teams are prepared for Gate/Interim Gate Reviews.
  • Execute project plans to meet milestones, timelines, KPIs, and the Project Charter, overcoming barriers and roadblocks proactively.
  • Monitor and control project progress and performance, preventing delays and budget overruns.
  • Actively identify and manage risks/liabilities associated with projects.
  • Provide regular reporting to senior management on key metrics of the project portfolio.
  • Identify and implement improvements to the project portfolio management process.


Required Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Automobile, Industrial Engineering, or Tool Design.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of professional experience in project management.
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering assignments, particularly in automotive components or mechatronics.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in managing global projects.
  • Project Management Institute (PMI) certification desirable (CAPM or PMP).
  • Solid understanding of agile development methodology and its application in NPD projects.
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project) and general engineering tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with cultural sensitivity.
  • Strong ability to set goals and motivate team members.
  • Ability to manage projects involving external organizations and customers.
  • Capable of running multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proactive, resilient, and self-confident individual.
