About the Role: The Senior Associate in Accounting plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive accounting and tax services to the Company. They are responsible for managing company accounts, preparing financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and providing strategic tax planning advice. The Senior Associate works closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality service and optimize financial performance.


Key Responsibilities:


Company Account Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned company accounts, building and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Understand clients' business needs and objectives to provide tailored accounting and tax solutions.
  • Coordinate with clients to gather necessary financial information and documentation for accounting and tax purposes.

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, by relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP).
  • Conduct financial reviews and variance analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
  • Communicate financial insights and recommendations to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Weekly Budgeting & Liability List.
  • Systems developments in Tally.
  • SOP & MIS of Accounts Departments.

Tax Compliance:

  • Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations, and advise clients on potential tax implications and strategies to minimize tax liabilities.
  • Assist clients in responding to tax notices, inquiries, and audits from tax authorities.

Tax Planning and Advisory:

  • Develop tax planning strategies to optimize clients' financial positions and minimize tax exposure.
  • Provide proactive tax advice and recommendations to clients on matters such as entity structure, deductions, credits, and incentives.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to implement tax-efficient solutions aligned with their long-term goals.

Cash Management:

  • Ensure cash is available in the right legal entity and right currency on a timely basis. Initiate payment processing and resolve bank reconciliations.
  • Minimize cost by utilizing appropriate modes of payments (such as bank transfers, direct debits, and corporate cards), negotiating bank fees, and minimizing idle cash.
  • Automation and integration of Tally with banking software

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other members of the accounting and tax team to coordinate client deliverables and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Mentor and train junior staff members, guiding them on technical matters and professional development.
  • Collaborate with partners and senior management to identify opportunities for business growth and service enhancement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required); Master's degree or CPA certification (preferred).
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in public accounting, tax advisory, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, tax laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple deadlines, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
  • Results-oriented, hands-on, software savvy, and team player.
  • Prior start-up experience is preferred
