Job Overview

The Senior Telecom design Engineer plays a critical role in the planning, design, and implementation of telecommunication systems. The Senior Telecom Design Engineer will be responsible for developing detailed design documents, specifications, and calculations for various telecommunication systems, including radio coverage, fiber optic links, and public address systems etc . Senior Telecom Design  Engineer will be reporting to the assigned Project Manager .

Engineering Design, FEED and detail Engineering experience, Deliverable list with Man hours & Costing estimation for proposal

·       Min 5 years’ Experience in working with any TSI companies in Telecom field including wired & wireless communication in Oil & Gas.

·       Must have experience in the detailed engineering and design documentations for various system utilised at oil and gas projects include but not limited to

CCTV, PAGA, RADIO SYSTEM(UHF/VHF/TETRA), SDH/DWDM, LAN/WAN, Cyber security and others.

·       Ensure verification of source data, concept drawings / concepts as required.

•      Prepare and finalize the engineering document deliverable register (EDDR) in coordination with all relevant department / discipline, submission date as per Client / Contract requirements.

•      Prepare / review the design outputs in the form of design computations, drawings and specification.

•      Review of design document, drawings, etc. issued by various disciplines, design subcontractor and ensure Client’s approval.

•      Responsible to ensure approval of all submitted documents and drawings and necessary coordination with Client/contractor

•      Responsible to ensure unclear issues are resolved with Client/contractor through technical query in coordination with inter discipline leads, managers.

•      In coordination with procurement department, ensure that procurement inputs required for design has been obtained from vendor and forwarded to the design subcontractor.

•      Coordinate for the preparation of as built.

•      Preparation of Telecommunication Engineering deliverables including Design Basis, Specifications for various Telecommunication Systems, System Block Diagrams, Datasheets, MR.

•      Producing Radio Coverage Calculations, Fresnel Zone Calculations, estimating antennae height, etc.

•      Perform Fiber Optic Link Budget Calculations, Data and Telephony Traffic Analysis, Capacity / Bandwidth Calculations, Public Address Sound Pressure Level Calculations.

•      Telecom Equipment Power Consumption and Heat Load Calculations.

•      Develop Telecommunication Systems Architecture Diagrams.

•      Provide engineering drawings including Device Location Plans, Cable Routing Layouts, Instrument/Device Installation Details, Interconnection Diagrams, Wiring Diagrams, Circuit & Connection Diagrams, , Cable Block Diagrams and MDF / IDF Schematics, FO Allocation Diagrams, Device and Equipment Schedules etc

•      Co-ordinate with other disciplines and review of other discipline deliverables.

•      Attend meetings with Clients, Contractors and Vendors to progress design scopes.

•      Review Telecommunication System Vendors offers, prepare Vendor technical clarifications and produce Technical Bid Evaluation reports.

•      Participates in defining engineering approaches, and in planning and scheduling work.

•      Evaluates problems, organizes investigations, and establishes overall performance specifications for components, equipment, systems, processes, etc

•      Check Engineering calculations as well as check all drawings in accordance with industry codes and standards.

•      Adhere to and comply with relevant discipline specific procedures and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

•      Participate in, project review meetings, design reviews and other workshops as required.

•      Organizing and active participation in design reviews.

•      Regularly functions as a technical leader or significant contributor to a major complex problem or project.

•      Produces innovative ideas and solves problems requiring development of innovative approaches or new uses for existing approaches.

•      Understands customer needs and applies technical solutions to meet goals.

•      Provide technical input and support to proposals as required.

•      Makes commitments on acceptance of projects, completion dates, resources and staff required to meet goals.

•      Coordinates the activities of engineering and design groups assigned to projects.

•      Participates in developing deadlines, projects, and work to be done.

•      May manage one or more projects, with responsibility for cost, schedule, resources allocation and risk.

•      Fully familiar with relevant international codes, standards and recommended practices.

•      Competent to carry out the Design activity in the Design-Check-Approve-Authorize cycle, and to Check the technical deliverables of designers.

•      Must be self-motivated, results oriented, and be flexible to work well under tight schedules in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary team environment.

•      Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and Communication.

•      Good oral and written English skills able to produce fluent Documents, Reports, and Technical Notes.

 

 

Qualifications

 

•      Bachelor's degree in Telecom Engineering

•      CISCO related certifications will be an added advantage

•      Previous ADNOC project experience of working would also be an advantage.
