Key Responsibilities:

  • Migration and Transformation:
  • Migrate SQL code from PostgreSQL to Databricks SQL notebooks.
  • Recreate and transform stored procedures and workflows.
  • Rewrite code to accommodate differences between PostgreSQL and Databricks SQL, including changes in database mechanisms and constraints.
  • Data Validation and Quality Control:
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of data transformation.
  • Validate that migrated stored procedures retain business logic and perform as expected.
  • Conduct first-pass validation to ensure code quality before final review.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with a team of SQL specialists and provide guidance on complex transformations.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to quality control processes.
  • Work closely with the team to manage workloads and project timelines.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in PostgreSQL and Databricks SQL.

Strong SQL skills with experience in data transformation and stored procedures.

  • Familiarity with data pipelines and workflows.
  • Experience:
  • Senior SQL Specialists: 5-7 years of experience with PostgreSQL and SQL, with a deep understanding of SQL-based data transformation.
  • SQL Specialists: 3-4 years of experience with PostgreSQL and SQL, capable of executing SQL code transformation and migration tasks.


  • Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Databricks and notebook-based SQL environments.
  • Ability to handle complex data transformations and code rewrites.
  • Familiarity with Python and PySpark (beneficial but not required).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
  • Capability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
