Role Description

We are seeking a skilled R&D Prototyping Specialist with a deep expertise in 3D printing and moderate to high skill in CNC machining to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating rapid prototypes to test and refine the principles of our designs before final production. This role is crucial in our development process, enabling faster iterations and innovative problem-solving in prototype stages.

Responsibilities:

• Design and fabricate functional prototypes using 3D printing, CNC machining, and other fabrication methods.

Work closely with R&D teams to understand design requirements and rapidly produce prototypes for testing.

Apply creative thinking and problem-solving skills to develop makeshift solutions for immediate testing and feedback.

• Optimize prototypes for faster production and testing, minimizing material use and fabrication time.
• Document prototype development processes, results, and provide feedback for design improvements.
• Maintain and troubleshoot fabrication equipment including 3d printers.

Qualifications

• Prefer Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field but not mandatory if there is evidence to prove skill and experience.
• Proven experience with 3D printing technologies. Experience in CNC machining is a plus, but it can be learnt on job.
• Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Ability to work independently and come up with innovative solutions to engineering problems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and adapt under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
