Job Description: Structural Design Engineer (Transmission Line and Substation)


Role Overview:

Join a globally recognized renewable energy consultancy as a Structural Design Engineer, where you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for Transmission Line and Substation projects. This role offers the unique opportunity to lead high-impact projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and shape the future of sustainable infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:

1.Structural Design Excellence:

  • Independently design RCC and steel structures for Transmission Lines, Substations, and associated infrastructure.
  • Conduct foundation designs, including pile, raft, and block foundations, using geotechnical analysis.
  • Perform detailed load analysis, considering wind, seismic, and thermal loads, adhering to international standards.


2.Project Leadership:

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery, ensuring quality and timelines.
  • Collaborate with electrical teams, contractors, and stakeholders, and represent the company in client meetings.


3.Team Collaboration:

  • Mentor junior engineers and draftsmen, review designs, and promote best practices.
  • Develop design criteria and construction specifications tailored to project needs.


4.Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure designs meet applicable national and international standards such as IS 802, ASCE 10, and IEC norms.
  • Maintain adherence to HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) policies during design and execution.


5.Site Support:

  • Provide technical assistance during construction phases and conduct on-site inspections to ensure design implementation.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • 8–12 years of experience in structural engineering, particularly in Transmission Line and Substation projects.
  • Proficiency in PLS Tower, PLS Pole, PLS CADD (any 2 softwares is mandatory).
  • Strong expertise in load calculations and structural design principles for RCC and steel structures.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills to mentor teams and liaise with clients effectively.
