Role Overview:


We are seeking an experienced Guidewire Developer with a strong background in Java to join our team in Chennai. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of experience in software development, with a significant focus on Guidewire applications and Java. This role requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Design, develop, and implement Guidewire-based solutions using Java.
  • Customize and configure Guidewire applications (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) to meet business requirements.
  • Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements.
  • Ensure the performance, quality, and responsiveness of applications.
  • Identify and resolve application issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks.
  • Maintain and enhance existing applications by implementing new features and improving existing functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers as needed.


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on Guidewire and Java.
  • Proficiency in Guidewire configuration and integration, including GOSU scripting.
  • Strong understanding of Guidewire architecture and data models.
  • Experience with Guidewire modules (PolicyCenter, ClaimCenter, BillingCenter) is essential.
  • Solid knowledge of Java and related technologies (Spring, Hibernate, etc.).
  • Experience with web services (SOAP/REST), XML, and JSON.
  • Familiarity with database technologies, particularly SQL and Oracle.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Guidewire certification (e.g., Certified Guidewire Developer).
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and DevOps practices.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (JavaScript, Angular, React) is a plus.
