Job Title: Database Architect

Location: Pune (Hybrid)


Industry Focus: Banking (Priority), Fintech (Product Development background also considered)


MAJOR DUTIES

  • Design stable, reliable and effective databases
  • Provide guidance and support to Application Developers
  • Assist with schema design, code review, SQL query tuning
  • Install, tune, implement and upgrade DBMS installations
  • Write and deploy SQL patches
  • Optimize and maintain legacy systems
  • Develop technical and training manuals
  • Upgrade and improve application schema and data upgrades
  • Solve database usage issues and malfunctions
  • Process work accurately and in a timely manner
  • Pay attention to detail at all times
  • Proactively and regularly make recommendations for system improvements
  • Provide data management support to users



EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent
  • At least 9+ years of working experience developing in PL/SQL, SQL, or NoSQL
  • Ability to write database PLSQL Packages, procedures, functions and triggers as well as build test that validate functionality
  • Working experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Working knowledge developing REST APIs and/or micro-services is a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience in using Docker
  • Experience in Data Modeling, Performance tuning and supporting PROD systems.
  • Experience in working with GIT (Bitbucket), SVN or other distributed source control systems
  • Familiar with relational, NoSQL, and event streaming database implementations (Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra, Kafka)
  • Bash, Windows Power Shell Scripting, JavaScript, Python, or other scripting languages
  • Knowledge and experience in assisting in construction of CI/CD pipelines in collaboration with DevOps including integration of test automation systems
  • Familiar with Banking Domain is an added advantage.
