Job Title: Senior Scientist (Mycology Specialist)

Position Overview:

As a Senior Scientist in Mycology, you will play a crucial role in advancing our research and development efforts, focusing on mycelium-based biomaterials, plastic replacement, and agriculture waste recycling. This position reports directly to the CEO and is pivotal in driving our mission towards sustainable material development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and optimise mycelium tissue culture techniques to improve material efficiency from various sources.
  • Spearhead new product development using mycelium as a starting block. 
  • Design and execute experimental protocols for robust data collection and analysis.
  • Perform comprehensive literature reviews, contribute significantly to research reports, and engage actively in scientific discussions.
  • Troubleshoot daily challenges and perform root cause analysis to ensure continuous laboratory operations.
  • Lead compliance with environmental regulations specific to mycelium-based products and hazardous substances.


Qualifications and Experience:
  • Ph.D. in Mycology, Biotechnology, or Microbiology (full-time).
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of relevant experience, particularly in mycology.
  • Proven track record in fungal microscopy, tissue culture, PCR, protein purification, and genetic studies.
Required Skills:
  • Expertise in identifying and cultivating fungal strains, including growth optimization and prevention.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in assembling and conducting experimental techniques.
  • Excellent communication abilities with experience in managing complex situations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry regulations and restrictions on hazardous substances.
  • Innovative thinker with a positive attitude and readiness to contribute to team success.
