Position Name: Purchase Manager - Engineering

Location: Pune

Experience- 7 + Years



Position Overview: The Purchase Manager for Engineering will be responsible for managing all project-related procurement activities, ensuring efficient sourcing, timely delivery, and cost-effective purchases for engineering requirements. This role demands a strategic thinker with extensive experience in project purchasing, a strong understanding of the procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle, and experience handling CAPEX and service contracts.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Procurement and Vendor Management
  • Oversee the entire procurement process for engineering projects, from vendor selection to contract negotiation and delivery.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring high standards of quality, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  1. P2P Cycle Management
  • Manage the full procure-to-pay (P2P) cycle, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to track purchasing requirements, approve requisitions, and oversee order processing for timely delivery.
  1. CAPEX and Service Contract Management
  • Administer CAPEX procurement and handle service contracts, ensuring all equipment, machinery, and services meet project specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Develop and negotiate service contracts for engineering maintenance and support, securing favorable terms for Imagicaa.
  1. Cost Control and Budgeting
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives and strategies to optimize procurement costs without compromising on quality.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, analyze spending trends, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
  1. Compliance and Documentation
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant policies, legal requirements, and industry standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of procurement processes, contracts, supplier evaluations, and financial transactions.
  1. Stakeholder Communication and Reporting
  • Collaborate with internal teams to understand project needs, provide regular updates, and address procurement-related inquiries.
  • Prepare and present procurement reports, updates on project purchases, and any potential risks or delays to senior management.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical).
  • 7-10 years of experience in project procurement, preferably in large-scale engineering or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of the P2P cycle, CAPEX procurement, and service contract management.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and non-verbal) for effective interaction with stakeholders and vendors.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, vendor management, and procurement software/tools.
