Job Title – Manager – CBODepartment – Central Buying Organisation (CBO) for managing the Aqua businessReporting to – Category Lead - CBOLocation: HO - MumbaiRole ObjectiveThe role would be part of Central Buying Organization (CBO) in Animal Feed Business of Godrej Agrovet Limited (GAVL). CBO procures more than 1.5 MMT of Agri Products for multiple businesses of GAVL. The incumbent will be responsible for procuring raw materials (RMs) and other feed ingredients with a sharp focus on cost efficiency, supply continuity, and supplier performance. The role demands strong market intelligence, imports knowledge, and stakeholder management skills to support business growth and competitiveness. Given the high volatility in agri-product prices and availability, the candidate must be self-driven, agile, and capable of making timely decisions and ensuring flawless execution.Key ResponsibilitiesSourcing & ProcurementManage end-to-end sourcing of raw materials such as agri-commodities, vegetable proteins etc required for feed manufacturingDevelop and execute short term and long term procurement strategies to address demand–supply gaps and optimize costs.Continuously identify and introduce new raw materials/vendors to enhance product portfolio and cost-effectivenessCreation of Purchase Orders, follow up for delivery completion, payment processing and other transactions involved in Procure-2-pay cycleMarket Research & AnalysisConduct detailed on-field crop surveys by travelling to source /producing markets, direct farmer interactionsTrack domestic and global market trends, price movements, and supply chain dynamics to anticipate risks and opportunities.Must be ready to travel extensively across India for vendor development, crop surveys, assess market trends and resolve business challengesTechnology & DigitalLeverage ERP platforms (e.g., SAP MM) for procurement operations, reporting, and analytics.Use E-Auction, digital sourcing tools, and mobile apps to enhance transparency and drive competitive buying.Apply data analytics and dashboards for real-time tracking of commodity prices, inventory, and supplier performance.Contribute to digital transformation initiatives in procurement by automating reports, improving MIS, and adopting advanced tools for decision-making.Logistics & ImportsOversee inbound logistics operations required for timely delivery of material by optimal route and costHandle import operations, documentation, and compliance for international sourcing.Apply tools and techniques to reduce logistics costs across key raw materials.Supplier Relationship ManagementConduct supplier visits and engage directly with vendors to conduct audits as well as evaluate performance on business critical parametersDrive supplier performance management programs to ensure alignment with business objectives.Leverage organizational strengths to expand and maintain a competitive vendor base with long-term relationships.Business & Stakeholder CollaborationPartner with cross-functional teams to implement sourcing strategies and ensure supply continuity.Achieve On-Time Delivery (OTD) targets and secure uninterrupted plant operations.Ensure compliance with organizational value systems, internal controls, and reporting requirements.Qualifications & ExperiencePost Graduation in Management education (Agri Business/SCM major preferred)Minimum 3-4 years of relevant experience in agri-commodities, feed, or allied industries.Proven expertise in:Strategic sourcing and procurementMarket intelligence and analyticsImport-led buyingSupplier performance managementWorking knowledge of SAP MM, E-Auction platforms, and digital procurement tools is desirable.High willingness to travel extensively across geographies for supplier visits and market intelligenceGood experience into procurement, buyer, process improvement, Grains & extractions, agri commodities exp.Key CompetenciesStrong commercial and negotiation acumenAnalytical mindset with ability to interpret market dynamicsEffective cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder managementEntrepreneurial mindset to consistently reduce Total Cost of OwnershipIntegrity, compliance orientation, and ability to work independently
