Job Description for Data Developer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Data Engineer/Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data management, analysis, and reporting using tools and technologies such as Python, SQL, AWS, CDC Infosphere, Denodo, Cognos, and Power BI. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Data Engineering & Management:
*Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and workflows using Python, SQL, and CDC Infosphere.
*Implement and optimize data integration and ETL processes for diverse data sources.
*Build and manage data models, including Snowflake Schema and Star Schema, to ensure efficient query performance and reporting.
*Develop data virtualization layers using Denodo for seamless data access across systems.
*Ensure data quality, integrity, and security in alignment with organizational policies.
Reporting & Visualization:
*Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI and Cognos Analytics.
*Automate data reporting processes and integrate reports into workflows using Excel and Google Sheets.
*Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and deliver actionable insights.
Data Analysis:
*Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization.
*Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data.
*Provide recommendations to improve business processes and support strategic initiatives.
Cloud & Platform Management:
*Design and manage cloud-based data solutions on AWS.
*Ensure efficient utilization of cloud resources to meet business requirements.
*Collaborate with DevOps and IT teams for infrastructure setup and maintenance.
Support & Collaboration:
*Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data scientists, and IT, to address data needs.
*Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data-related issues.
*Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Technical Skills:
*Proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
*Advanced expertise in SQL for data querying and management.
*Experience with CDC Infosphere for change data capture and integration.
*Strong knowledge of Denodo for data virtualization.
*Proficiency in Power BI, Cognos, Excel, and Google Sheets for reporting and visualization.
*Understanding of data modeling techniques, including Star and Snowflake Schema.
*Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
*Familiarity with RPG programming for legacy system integration is a plus.

*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
*Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
*Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
*Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
