You will be mining through these tasks:Market Maker Business DevelopmentIdentify, evaluate, and onboard institutional market makers for both derivatives and spot order booksDevelop, design and execute incentive/pricing strategies to attract high-quality liquidity providers to the platformNegotiate commercial terms, fee structures, and incentive programs with market makersBuild and maintain a robust pipeline of potential market making partnersPerformance Management & KPI FrameworkDefine, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for external market makers including:Spread metrics and depth targetsUptime and quote consistencyFill rates and execution qualityVolume commitments and market shareEstablish performance benchmarking frameworks and SLA compliance monitoringConduct regular performance reviews and drive continuous improvement initiativesLiquidity Cost OptimizationAnalyze and optimize the total cost of liquidity across all trading pairsDesign competitive yet sustainable maker-taker fee structuresImplement incentive programs that balance cost efficiency with market qualityIdentify opportunities to reduce rebates and trading costs while maintaining competitive spreadsMonitor and report on liquidity ROI and cost per unit of depthOrder Book ExpansionLead the strategy for migrating and routing additional trading pairs to the proprietary order bookPrioritize pairs based on volume potential, strategic importance, and liquidity availabilityCoordinate with product and engineering teams for seamless order book launchesDevelop go-to-market strategies for new pair listings with adequate MM supportRelationship ManagementServe as the primary point of contact for market making partnersBuild and nurture long-term strategic relationships with key liquidity providersOrganize regular business reviews and feedback sessions with MM partnersAddress operational issues and facilitate resolution of technical or commercial concernsRepresent the company at industry events and market maker conferencesRisk ManagementMonitor and manage counterparty risk exposure with market makersImplement risk controls and position limits for MM activitiesIdentify and mitigate potential manipulation, wash trading, or adverse selection risksCollaborate with compliance and risk teams to ensure regulatory adherenceDevelop contingency plans for market maker failures or liquidity disruptionsMonitor market abuse patterns and ensure fair trading practices
