Job Title: Senior Manager - QA-QC

Location: Navi Mumbai

Experience Preferred: Offshore Pipeline / Subsea Pipeline.



Job Purpose


To plan, execute, and supervise inspection activities for welding, coating, equipment, and piping in accordance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements, ensuring quality and safety compliance during construction, fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.


Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inspection of welding, coating, piping, equipment, and static mechanical components during fabrication, installation, and commissioning stages.
  • Review and approve project-specific quality plans, inspection test plans (ITPs), method statements, and procedures.
  • Monitor and witness stage-wise inspections as per SATIP/EPM/QMIS and project hold/witness points.
  • Conduct vendor shop inspections, material receiving inspections, and verify mill test certificates.
  • Supervise coating/painting inspection activities: surface preparation, blasting, DFT checks, holiday testing, adhesion tests, and storage/handling of coating materials.
  • Review and interpret NDT reports (RT, UT, PT, MT, PMI, Hardness, PWHT) and radiographic film interpretation.
  • Prepare and issue NCRs, LBEs, EDRs, and track their closure with corrective and preventive actions.
  • Conduct welding procedure qualifications (WPS/PQR), welder qualifications, and ensure only qualified welders/coating personnel are deployed.
  • Participate in quality audits, PMCC walkthroughs, and punch point clearances with SAPMT/clients.
  • Ensure documentation control, preparation of QA/QC dossiers, and as-built records.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE procedures, toolbox talks, and safety audits during site inspections.
  • Lead and mentor junior QA/QC engineers and inspectors, ensuring high performance and technical growth.


Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of welding, coating, piping, equipment inspection techniques and QA/QC systems.
  • Familiar with international codes & standards: ASME, API, AWS D1.1, NACE, ASTM, ISO 9001.
  • Expertise in offshore pipeline, jackets, platforms, and onshore petrochemical facilities.
  • Skilled in NDT techniques and interpretation (ASNT Level II).
  • Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication skills.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and team management abilities.


Qualifications & Certifications

  • AMIE / Diploma / B.Tech/B.E in Mechanical Engineering
  • AWS-CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)
  • API 510, API 570 Certified Inspector
  • BGAS Grade-2 Certified Coating Inspector
  • ASNT Level II (RT, UT, PT, MT, VT)
