Role: Middleware SME

Experience Range: 8 – 12 Years

Location: Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad

Must-Have:

• Must have experience with IIS ( (IIS 5.0, 6.0, 7.0), IIS – site configuration, SSL provisioning Handled all the aspects of IIS Administration tasks like Troubleshooting, maintenance, Installation, Configuration, Deploying Applications & performance Tuning
• Possess advanced Unix shell scripting and Python abilities (Ansible platform). Hands on experience on Platform Operations support including maintenance, migration and build for the underlying products. Automation of Middleware component installation via Ansible and/or platform related scripts (e.g. bash or powershell on windows)
• Ability to install, configure and debug WebLogic, JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, and Glassfish clustering with F5 or Apache server.
• Middleware operational support, including regular operational activities, rolling updated patches, builds, and upgrades
• Application support for middleware servers in coordination with the application team
• Health checks for application services and middleware servers
• Middleware and application implementations incl. major releases
• Rolling patches to fix security vulnerabilities

Good-to-Have:

• Having knowledge of DevOps setup and configuration will be added advantage; basic powershell knowledge

Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role

• Hands on experience and mentality on Platform Operations support including maintenance, migration and build for the underlying products (fluent linux command line, ansible experience). Operational support will ensure smooth and functional running servers with server health checks and monitoring
• The goal is a cross-skilled team. The candidate should to be able to provide support for the other technologies as well. He must be willing to acquire expertise topics of hardening (in form of configuration templates for the web-/appserver products.
• Willingness to work a shift schedule within an 11x5 support window
• Willingness to participate in patch-weekends (up to 4 times per year, depending on final expertise of team members)
• Hands on experience with Middleware operational support which includes regular operational activities, rolling updated patches, build and upgrades
• Application support over Middleware servers with coordination from Applications team
• Health checks for Application services and Middleware servers
• Rolling out patches for vulnerability mitigation
• Application Incident Troubleshooting & resolution related to Middleware
• Coordinating with Infrastructure teams for various Infra activities
• HA configurations for all Middleware components depends on criticality of Applications
• Company-wide communication, e.g. via e-mail, about security vulnerabilities, CERT messages and/or outdated platform components and embedded web servers, as well as supporting the business departments/application managers in the course of processing these
• Monitoring of hardening parameters and discovery of Web Servers and Java Instances will be performed by the Platform division. Existing scripts are in-place to monitor and runs once daily and stored on target systems
• Reports will be refurbished and provided for security and platform customers
• Update documentation / knowledge base in confluence on new learnings, operating procedure etc.
