Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Coimbatore, India
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Developing and maintaining current, written Job Descriptions for all positions that report directly to you.
- Maintaining a constructive environment that continually develops your directly supervised personnel in a career-oriented way. This includes conducting semi-annual Performance Evaluations, Training needs & multi-skill development.
- Develop written Standard Operating Procedures for all critical duties and all positions in your Line of Reporting. This includes delegating or assigning writing duties to appropriate staff, updating Management Manuals accordingly, and notifying affected staff about any changes in SOPs.
- Making staffing decisions, from both a quantity and quality standpoint, and making recommendations when reasonable variations from budget are warranted.
- Delegating duties, as occasionally may be required to meet deadlines.
- Conducting your departmental operations within established budgets.
- Ensuring that work areas in your department are clean and presentable (5S practices)
- Maintaining a reasonable work environment and providing adequate safeguards for the work-related health and safety of employees.
- Train the reports on each task and SOP within their job description
- Implement Management by Goals and Objects and monitor for timely achievement
- Utilize the Management Manual as a resource for organization and delegation control
- Assign task delegation and monitor for timely achievement
- Review Employee (subordinate) Performance to their job descriptions, goals and objectives
- Create Action Plans that achieve your Department/Section's intermediate goals and objectives and align with long-term Company objectives.
- Explain and discuss all variances from your Department/Section in the Goal / Objectives and take actions to catch up.
- Monitor the development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures relative to your department/section
- Monitor and report the status of process improvement action items
- Train employees on techniques that will optimize their time
- Schedule the workloads of your resource team members
- Track the number and type of CFRs (causes for reject/rework) created by your staff & work on resolutions.
- Train staff how to manage & improve their portion of production successfully (Productivity, Cost, Quality, Morale etc.,)
- Investigate work schedule delays & quality issues in your Section and implement corrective action
- To act as a medium for all issue resolution related to production & shop floor.
- Conduct daily management meetings having complete control over SQDIP/PQCDMS.
- Coordinate and monitor all production, maintenance, and quality of your Section
- Ensure all production occurs within budgets of cost, time, quality, and safety
- Review the Master Schedule daily & Ship Schedule/logistics, transports etc.,
- Schedule the job tasks of all assembly production
- Ensure the Start & End of Shift Checklist is completed properly
- Cross-train staff, as needed, to ensure the safe operation of all equipment and tools
- Constantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our production processes.
Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies:
- Minimum four-year degree or vocational certification in this field, or exceptional direct experience. Advanced skills in MS Office.
- Minimum of five years of hands-on experience in these or related functions.
- Preferably from a Machine manufacturing or Automation development background.
- Communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working experience in 5S, TPM & LEAN principles.
- Knowledge of Industrial Engineering Tools & Techniques (time study, motion study, continuous improvements, automation etc.,
- Knowledge in Manufacturing Engineering – Assembly processes, Parts development.
- Able to develop Packing specifications for the product, which involves export-worthy standards.
